Little Compton Parish is in the district of Stratford-on-Avon in the County of Warwickshire. The statutory Planning Authority is Stratford-on-Avon District Council.

Little Compton village also has a designated Conservation Area (see map below) which is subject to particular planning and design guidance (see Policies/Planning Policy).

The Parish Council is consulted and comments on planning applications submitted to Stratford-on-Avon District Council (SDC). This includes application for tree works in Little Compton's Conservation Area and trees subject to a Preservation Order (TPO). Developments (e.g. extensions, new buildings and changes to existing structures and land use) are also subject to Design Guidelines for the village issued by the District Council (see Policies section).
